Liked the apple bread pudding, but needed some tartness, so added homemade tart white grape raisins at home.
Chocolate orange scone is yummy. The brightness and bitterness of the candied orange peel is a great contrast against all the chocolate. Personally wanted more orange in the ratio, but still enjoyed it as I am a chocolate lover. Crunchy on the outside, and soft on the inside. Very enjoyable. -

This is a really great surprise in an otherwise pretty boring shopping center. We're not from the South Bay and were looking on Yelp for breakfast places, definitely found a winner with Pinwheel.
The food is wonderful. We had a croque monsieur, the parisienne baguette sandwich, an assortment of croissants, and a lavender lemon scone. They were all great, but I think the sneaker hit is the scone (which I'd expected to be kind of boring). The lavender isn't overpowering, the lemon shines through, the texture is crumbly but maintains its structure, and there's a mild sweetness and butteriness that I just loved. Would really like the recipe for these.
The croissants were great, and the ham in the sandwich and ham & cheese croissant was what I'd call "proper" ham, not that water added/pressed crap you see served so often. The fruit on the side included berries, which is always nice instead of just getting boring underripe hunks melon and soft grapes. My husband said his latte was good and my tea was perfectly fine.
The server/cashier was friendly and knowledgeable and the place itself looked immaculate. I think all in the price was $40, which seems totally fair for the quality and generous portion sizes.
If we lived closer I'd definitely be a return customer, and if they ever consider a second location I hope they consider Crescenta Valley! -

I have walked past this place several times and today is the day that I finally tried it. I am definitely glad I did.
The interior of the restaurant is very nice when you first walk in and everything appears clean and organized. You are greeted by a massive assortment of fresh baked pastries and some of them are ginormous like the "Jesuite" Almond pastry.
Jeffrey who placed my order was super nice and helpful on deciding what to get and did everything with a smile. I ended up ordering the French toast and added; a organic scrambled egg, avocado, and a chicken breast. When I received my bill I actually had to double check as it was ridiculously reasonable. Everything before tip came out to $15.33. I wish there were more places like this. Usually I am lucky if it only comes out to $20 for breakfast. Also FYI the portions are large here and I struggled but so worth it lol.
Their menu has some great options as well and it is definitely hard to choose so it looks like I will be back soon :) If you haven't checked them out yet then head over ASAP you will not be disappointed. -

Torrance has been lacking a French bakery for quite some time, so it's refreshing to have a place like Pinwheel Cafe Bakery where people can stop by and get a coffee and French pastry. They serve French dishes, pastries and delicassies of all sorts and they bake/prepare everything in-house. If you have time in the morning, I would suggest ordering one of their specialty plates or omelette dishes. I absolutely love their Royal Croque served on a warm croissant and sunny side up egg. Delicious!
They serve fairly smaller portions here, which is perfect for me. Don't expect your orders to come out super fast because they definitely take time to prepare everything with care. I haven't tried everything on their menu, but I definitely plan to get around to it. Mornings tend to draw a good sized crowd, so coming a little later in the day is usually better if you're in a hurry and want to grab something to go.
All in all, it's a convenient place to meet with friends and have a nice quaint French atyle meal -

Enjoy this place very much. When I have my off fridays from work I go in have a nice cup of cappucino and something on the menu. Its quiet and peaceful. Sometimes its louder but eh noise doesnt bug me. I also usually like to take home some fresh bread and maybe a pastry or two. Its conviently next to trader joes and in the same shopping center as whole foods. So I come have a nice breakfast to start my day and then I run around getting groceries. It's kinda become a ritual as it's literally 5 minutes from my home.
